Dear sir,
ReplyDeleteI want to work in airport services but the problem i am facing because i have no any idea about the course & the instiute which course give me a bright future . I am working in a travel company. plz advice me what i have to do for my carrier. Id is ravi_aa22@yahoo.co.in
Ravi
Dear Ravi,
ReplyDeleteYou dont really need a specific course for airport services.
I mentioned this earlier to someone else too, just go to the Airport, meet all the Airport Managers (AAI & Airlines) and see how & where you can apply.
If you really want to, then you could do one of the many one year courses that give you an exposure to Airlines, Hospitality & Tourism.
All the best!
Warm Regards,

DEAR SIR,
ReplyDeleteI HAVE 03 YRS EXPERIENCE IN FOOD& BEVERAGE SERVICE FROM 5 STAR HOTELS & I HAVE DEGREE IN HOTEL MANAGEMENT.BUT I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH SALARY AS WELL AS POSITION TOO B'COZ OF SLOW CAREER GROWTH.CURRENTLY WORKING AS A STEWARD IN TAJ HOTELS. PLZZ ADVICE ME WHAT I HAVE TO DO NEXT?
Dear Anshul,
ReplyDelete3 years is enough time to move to the supervisory level.
Here are my suggestions:
1. Always try and seek an improvement with your current employer. Please speak to your direct boss, your F&B Manager & your HR Manager about what you can do to get a promotion.
Probably they will tell you somethings that you are currently lacking in.
2. Food & Beverage is a small world. Talk to people in other hotels/organizations, friends and see if you can move.
with a 3 years exp you will get a job in Delhi/Mumbai or any other metro very very easily.
3. Seek out opportunities yourself.
Call leading hotels, speak to HR and ask them you would like to meet them to discuss opportunities.
most of them will agree to meet you.
Try this out.
Let me know how it goes..
Cheers!

Dear Sir,
ReplyDeleteI want to become a Cabin Crew and I have done Cabin Crew and Hospitality Course and currently I am working in the 3* hotel in Ahmedabad and now I just would like to know that which are the main questions will be asked and How should I give the answers,Could you please assist me.
Hope you reply me as soon as possible.
Dear Bharat,
ReplyDeleteI dont know which city you are based, but here are my suggestions:
> Tourism/Travel Trade is a huge future opportunity. Like retail you will see a surge in work, employment and opportunities.
> IATA certification is offered by IATA. You can do the course from anywhere it does not really matter. it is the IATA examination that you need to clear. check for YMCA in your city, they should be offering this course.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!

@Sumit
ReplyDeleteYou can very easily move to the reservations, although your manager may not really like it. If you have been at the Front Desk, your manager may not want to loose a trained resource. However, reservations is really not that difficult to move into from front desk.
I suggest you have a word with your immediate supervisor and then your HOD. if that fails, speak to HR.
if that fails, just change your job.
p.s. since you havent mentioned where you are I cant give you specific advice. you can write to me at p.bedi@eclathospitality.com
